Stories – Yours and Ours

“How can we partner and support education and youth communities with Appreciative Inquiry and other Strength based practices?”

The Positive Change Core story is the coming together of a group of stories, people and conversations. We invite you to enjoy some of them below.

Our Story:

Founder, Dr Marjorie Schiller: It started with a big bang, literally. In NY on September 11, 2001, Dr. Marge Schiller met 3 year old Rachel in NY “I learned that my images of hope are the voices of children“. The experience shifted her from working with executives, corporations and government agencies to children and education communities. “I can think of no more important work…” The story continues to evolve – You can read more of Marjorie’s story here.

We invite you to join us, make stories with us, and/or contribute stories of your own, too!

Thank you for being part of PCC!

Congratulations Canton

Last year, Positive Change Core worked with Canton, Ohio to create an intergenerational ‘Leap Of Learning’ – “Flourishing Canton”. Can a rush belt community flourish in the 21st Century?

Part of the Leap of Learning’s outcome were 3 core strategies to achieve a Flourishing Canton, driven by the community, in particular its young people.

Positive Change Core Is Online

Positive Change Core, the evolution of Positive Change Corps, is now online – and we are blogging too!

It has been almost 5 years since our vision was born on September 11, 2001. And together we have gone through a lot!

This includes bringing our innovative process ‘Leap Of Learning’ to communities who invited us to join them and work to  produce rapid, sustainable, contagious transformation, and hosting countless learning opportunity monthly calls, sharing from our community via our listserv, a recent renaming and now, the evolution of Positive Change Core’s brand and website.

This Positive Change Core site, which uses opensource technology, thanks to WordPress and a collaboration with designer Zern Liew and many of you, is just phase 1 in bringing our collaborative community together sustainably virtually as well as physically (and telephonically…).

We look forward to continuing to work with you and your communities facilitating strength based change processes to elevate youth and the education sector.

And of course, we welcome your comments!
